Youth Movie Arvo a Great Event

Our recent youth movie afternoon was a fantastic event, a lot of fun!! Once again Callum, our Director of Youth Activities has put on a great show for our youth. Great Work!!!!

Last Saturday, Birubi Point SLSC transformed into a lively hub of laughter as our youth cadets gathered for a much-anticipated movie night and dinner catch-up. The day was nothing short of perfect, with everyone hitting the surf and showcasing their skills in some entertaining swimming games. Our Youth Director, Callum, is still recovering from an exhausting swim-run-swim race, in which the talented Delilah, affectionately known as Big D, took home the win. After the water, everyone made their way back to the clubhouse, eager to cool off and unwind. The air conditioning was turned on, creating a refreshing oasis from the summer heat outside. Cadets settled in with their snacks and drinks, ready to immerse themselves in a thrilling movie that sparked laughter and conversation. But the evening didn’t end there! Following the film, we organised a signals knowledge competition in which cadets showcased their skills and understanding of vital lifesaving signals. It was a fun and engaging way to reinforce essential knowledge while fostering teamwork and friendly rivalry. At Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club, our youth engagement strategy extends far beyond simply having lifesavers on the beach. We are dedicated to developing confident, caring cadets who are passionate about serving our community. Events like these not only strengthen the bonds among our youth but also empower them with the skills and values needed to make a positive impact. As the night concluded, it was clear that our cadets left with more than just memories of fun and games; they carried with them a renewed sense of belonging and purpose within the club. Here’s to many more events that celebrate our vibrant youth and the spirit of service!
